Hello! We are planning our first trip to Disney in November. We are staying off site. What is the cheapest transportation to get to the parks without having to pay $25 per day? What are some tips and suggestions for our first time visit? Thank you!

    Hi Connie!

First trips are always extra exciting! For first time visitors, be sure to create a My Disney Experience Account and download the Mobile App on your smartphone. This will help you stay organized and keep all your planning in one spot! Make any Advance Dining Reservations you want now, and reserve your FastPass+ selections as soon as you are able, which for off property Guests is 30 days in advance. I always recommend arriving early to the parks, approximately 30 minutes before scheduled opening, to make the most of the low crowds each morning!

In terms of transportation, a bit will depend on where you are staying. Many Guests staying off property do choose to rent a car, but there is a parking fee at the theme parks. Many off property hotels offer a shuttle service. I would start by investigating if this is something your hotel offers, as it would be the most affordable option. Your next best options are Uber or Lyft. Both of these services are very common in the Orlando area and I have used them myself. Depending on how far away you are staying, many rides are less than $20. You can visit their websites to get a fare estimate in advance. You may also consider using Mears Taxi Service. I have also used this service and they have a mobile app for your smartphone to make calling a cab quick and easy.

While it sounds as if you have your accommodations in place, if you were interested in looking to stay within the magic at a Disney Resort Hotel, there are some Special Offers available for the autumn. Transportation to and from Orlando International Airport is included with Disney’s Magical Express, as is transportation between your resort hotel, theme parks, water parks and Disney Springs! You’ll also be able to book your FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance rather than 30, giving you the best selection, and access to Extra Magic Hours meaning more time in the parks before they open to the public.

I hope this helps, and let us know what additional questions we can help you with!
