I am planning a first trip to Disney for my 5yo daughter, and 7yo nephew. The plan is to stay at Disney for 4 days at the parks in October 2016. I was mostly curious as to any advice you could provide, as well as when I would be able to book the trip?

First trips are always so special and I’m so excited that you are thinking ahead and starting to plan.  I know your daughter and nephew will have a wonderful time.

I highly encourage you stay at one of the many Walt Disney World Resort hotels.  With a large array of options, you are sure to find one that will fit your likes, your needs and most importantly, your budget.   My son, who is 5, loves staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.  A young Princess may love a stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or a Royal Guest Room at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.

When it comes to parks, Magic Kingdom Park is my “must-do”, especially for your first visit.   There is nothing more magical than walking down Main Street, U.S.A. and seeing Cinderella Castle for the very first time.  The whole family will also love setting sail on a swashbuckling voyage in Pirates of the Caribbean and going on a splashy musical adventure in Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid. If you can, allow two days for this park.  My family also loves visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  My son has so much fun on Toy Story Midway Mania and adores seeing some of his favorite Disney Junior Stars at Animation Courtyard.

Andrea, you have taken the most important step already which is planning a magical trip for your family.  Vacation packages for 2016 should become available this summer.  Keep checking back for the latest information.  You can always make a room-only reservation up to 499 days in advance by calling (407) W-DISNEY (934-7639).

If you have any other questions or need any additional information, we are happy to help.
