Planning my first trip and arriving on Sun Sept 19 at 11 am. How long of a commute can i expect from the airport to the resort. Trying to figure out when i can be at the first park. Thanks,

    Shantel:

Technically, the ride from the airport to Disney is about 35 minutes. HOWEVER....

If you are using Disney's Magical Express, I would budget a minimum of 1 1/2 hours up to 2 1/2 hours for the transfer as you need to accommodate for any wait you'll encounter at the airport for the buses (and if you don't have your bus transfers, you have to wait in an additional line to get those first).  Then, each bus has several resorts for drop-offs on its route, so you'll need to allow about 10 minutes or so per stop and some buses stop at as many as four resorts.

Once you're at your resort, you'll need to check in.  Allow time for this and for another transfer via resort transportation to the parks. Transfer will depend on your resort and the forms of transportation at those resorts....If I were in your shoes, I would guess the earliest you could be in the parks would be 2:00 or 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
