Planning my first family vacation for June 2016- I want to do Disney right and have lots of memories. What is the best way to plan this Disney trip? It's for 2 adults 2 children ages will be 3 and 7. Thank you!

    Hi Jill,
You have come to the right place-welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We are a big group of planners and we love to hear people say they are thinking about their trip way ahead of time.

The best way to plan is to do your research. If your kids are picky eaters, have a look at some dining menus online (I love the ones on AllEars.net and DisneyFoodBlog.com) and find the kinds of foods they like to eat. Make your Advanced Dining Reservations 180 days prior to the start of your vacation. You can make all your dining reservations for your entire trip at this time. Be aware that some experiences (such as breakfast at the Crystal Palace located in Cinderella Castle and meals at Be Our Guest) go very quickly, so if that is important to you, have your list ready and book them as soon as you are able to in an effort to get what you want.

Check out the attractions online and decide what you would like to FastPass. If you're staying in a Walt Disney World Resort, you can make your FastPass+ selections 60 days prior to arrival for your entire vacation. For off-property stays, your window opens at 30 days but it does not extend to your entire vacation. Make use of the Rider Switch Service if there are attractions your younger child is too small to ride or would prefer not to do.

There are dozens of resorts to choose from in all price points. All have incredible swimming pools. I really enjoy working in an afternoon nap and pool visit each day and leaving a day or two just to swim at the resort or walk around Downtown Disney. An afternoon nap can do wonders for being able to stay long enough to see the fireworks displays in the evening.

Make sure you download My Disney Experience on your smart phone and make yourself familiar with that and the desktop site.

Jill, I hope you make a million great memories!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
