Planning our FIRST family Disney vacation with two boys who will be 12 & 8 when we travel. Will they do anything special with it being our first visit and do you have any "must do" recommendations?

    Hi Brian,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Exciting times - planning your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, I suggest that you call 407-939-5277 to speak with a cast member and request that your first visit celebration be added to your reservation information. When you arrive to the resort hotel, request a complimentary 1st Visit button. Wear it throughout the parks and cast members will be delighted to acknowledge your celebration!

To make your first visit go smoothly, be sure to make advanced dining reservations and Fast Pass+ selections. Doing both will save you valuable time in lines. We always make dining reservations for table-service meals, especially for dinner. Our girls are 11-years old. Some of their favorite restaurants are 'Ohana (dinner), The Crystal Palace (breakfast), 1900 Park Fare (breakfast), Tiffins Restaurant (breakfast), California Grill (dinner), Coral Reef Restaurant (dinner) and The Edison (dinner). We especially enjoy dining at 'Ohana and California Grill during the Happily Ever After fireworks.

As you make your Fast Pass+ selections, be sure to select Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Avatar Flight of Passage, and Slinky Dog Dash. At Epcot, I would definitely select Test Track as one of your Fast Pass+ options. Our girls love Mission: SPACE as well although, on our last visit, one of them chose the Orange Mission while the other chose the Green. Outside of the parks, you may want to visit the LEGO® Store at Disney Springs.

Brian, remember to take a break and enjoy some pool time!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
