Hello, I am planning our first family cruise vacation for next year. Preferably either summer or December. Would the land and sea package be a good one? If so, what can I look forward to?Our son will be 3 and a half by this time.

    Ahoy, Magalita!

A Land and Sea adventure is my family's favorite kind of Disney vacation. When we sail from Port Canaveral, it just doesn't feel right being soooooo close to the Walt Disney World Resort without paying a visit to Cinderella Castle!

A Land and Sea vacation can really be set up any way you prefer. You can start with a resort stay, then transition to the cruise, or you can cruise first then visit the parks. You can even bookend your cruise with park visits on both ends! (On our last vacation we did just that, and it was awesome!) Combining the relaxed elegance and pampering of a Disney Cruise Line vacation with the excitement and thrills of a Walt Disney World Resort visit is really the ultimate way to experience Disney at its finest. Adding on Disney Cruise ground transportation provides a smooth transition from land to sea and back again.

At age three and a half, your son would be the perfect age for a Disney Cruise, as he will be old enough to enjoy the Oceaneer Club - one of the incredible Youth Clubs onboard. The clubs provide a safe, fun place for young cruisers to hang out while parents explore the ship on their own. The best part? The clubs are included in the cost of your cruise!

While summer provides warmer temps for cruising, in December you'd get to enjoy one of Disney Cruise Line's Very Merrytime sailings, chock full of holiday entertainment and special offerings that are truly cause for celebration. You might even get a visit from Santa Claus himself!

To learn more about booking a Land and Sea package, simply call Disney Cruise Line at (800)951-3532, or contact your travel agent.

    I hope this helps! - Diane W.
