Hello ! We are planning our first DW vacation around February 19- March 1st 2015. What can I expect for temperatures to be and the crowds to be like as well ? Thanks !!

    Hi Kerrie,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  I am excited to help you plan your first Walt Disney World Vacation!  The first time that my husband and I took my daughter to Walt Disney World, we went in February.  In February, the weather is cooler and the crowds tend to be lower than in summer or other more popular times of year like Spring Break.

The average high temperature in Orlando in February is about 74 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average low is about 52 degrees Fahrenheit.  It is not a very rainy month.  I would suggest bringing layers of clothes with you, certainly a light jacket or sweatshirt for the evenings.  With weather like this, I would suggest bringing both long pants and shorts.

With the dates that you mentioned, you will miss President's Day, which is on February 16, 2015.  That holiday weekend might see an increase in crowds, but it should have abated by the time you arrive.  The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is February 19 - February 22, 2015.  While this may result in a slight increase in crowds, if you just pay attention to where the races an events are, you can avoid most of the crowds.  You might even want to try one of the fun RunDisney events that weekend!  Other than that, I think that you are going at a time of year when the crowds will be quite moderate.  Remember that Walt Disney World is never empty, but the time of year that you are considering will likely be one of the less crowded times of year.  When I am looking for predictions of crowd levels at Walt Disney World, I like to visit the unofficial site  For a low price, you can see their predictions of crowd levels for a year in advance.

I hope that this information is helpful to you, Kerrie!  Please let us know if you have any further questions.
