We are planning our first Disney World vacation for next summer and I have a 5 year old son, I am not sure where the best place to stay. My son absolutely loves the characters and I want to stay at a hotel that has the most interaction with them. Help :)?

There are many criteria you should consider when choosing a Disney resort hotel (price, location, themeing, dining options, etc.), but character interaction is not one of those criteria. There are no characters just wandering around at the resorts. The only real character interaction you would get at a hotel would be at a character dining experience. There are character meals at the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, and Beach Club resorts, but any Disney guest may make reservations to dine there and guests of those resorts are not given any special priority in booking character meals.

While the hotels are not hot spots for character interaction, the Disney theme parks sure are. Each of the four theme parks has many opportunities for meeting characters throughout the day at several locations. Check the free Times Guide you'll find as you enter the park to see where your favorite characters will be appearing.

So, your first steps in deciding where to stay would be figuring out your budget and where you think you'll be spending most of your touring time. Let us know if you have more questions.
