We are planning our first Disney vacation for early Mar of this year. We are going to be staying at the CSR. Stay 4 days and wondering if it would be easier to use our POV for transportation. We have 2 boys ( 8 & 3). We will have a stroller. Thanks

    Hi Daniel,

Congratulations on planning your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! Believe me when I tell you, this vacation will create memories that will last a lifetime!

As for transportation, this is a tricky question. This resort offers bus transportation to the parks as well as Downtown Disney. I too travel with an 8 year old, a 3 year old (and a 9 year old) and of course - the stroller. I can tell you from experience that there are pros and cons to both the use of a personal vehicle and the bus. Here is a quick overview:

Bus Service - Pros: Saves gas;  avoid the hassle of parking as you are dropped of relatively close to the park entrance (big plus when visiting Magic Kingdom); you will probably arrive to your destination quicker as the drivers are familiar with the area and the best routes.  Cons: You have to fold up the stroller when boarding (this can be a hassle if the stroller is large or if your little one is asleep); if you return to resort late and the kids fall asleep on the bus, they tend to get very cranky; the bus can get very full (sometimes standing room only); and you have to wait for the bus (sometimes up to 20 minutes).

Personal Vehicle - Pros: Comfort of your own vehicle, you can park for free at the Disney Parks by showing the parking pass you received when checking in to your resort. Cons: You may end up parking far from the park entrance and will probably end up riding a tram to get to the entrance, thus you will be folding up the stroller anyways;  you may feel too tired to drive after a full day at the park.

As you can see, you have some things to consider and only you would know what would be easier or more convenient for your family. I hope I was able to answer your question. If I can assist you with any other planning question, please feel free to ask me.
