Hi! We're planning our first Disney vacation in December with our 4 and 2 year old daughters. I'm having a hard time choosing between the Contemporary Resort and the Wilderness Lodge. Which is best for young children?

    Hi Amy,

Thanks so much for writing!  You've listed two of my favorite properties at Walt Disney World.  Both are deluxe resorts in the Magic Kingdom area and offer easy access to the park via either monorail (The Contemporary) or a quick boat ride (The Wilderness Lodge).  From a convenience standpoint, I'd vote for the Contemporary, because in addition to the monorail, you can also walk to Magic Kingdom via a lovely walkway.  You will also be able to take the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center and switch to another one to Epcot, making both parks very easy to get to. You won't need to fold your stroller on the monorail, so if you have sleeping babies on  your way out of the park, you won't wake them.  However, from a decor,  and resort property perspective, I'm a bigger fan of The Wilderness Lodge.  The lobby at the Lodge is truly magnificent, and my favorite on property.  The entire resort is truly amazing, with a spectacular pool and even Disney's version of Old Faithful Geyser.  The dining options at both resorts are fantastic, and are sure to satisfy the appetites of everyone in your family.  With tiny tots in tow, you'll likely be spending a lot of time at Magic Kingdom, so either is a great pick.  If I absolutely had to decide, I'd opt for Wilderness Lodge because it truly is spectacular.  Have a magical trip!
