    Sheila Asked

We are planning our first Disney vacation. We have the DDP, and our 180 days is comimg up. I would like to make a reservation at Chef Mickeys for breakfast. For what time should we make the reservation for, we would like to see to rope drop at Disney?

Sheila you are so on it! Your first visit to Walt Disney World and you are ready to go with your dining reservations, know the term rope drop, and are planning to hit the Magic Kingdom early. On my first trip to WDW I was only focused on parking and riding Space Mountain.

Avoid days the Magic Kingdom has early morning Extra Magic Hours so you have more time to enjoy your breakfast. With the opening ceremony typically at 9:00am, I would book breakfast for 7:00am. This allows you time to have your photo package pictures taken, be seated, enjoy the bountiful buffet, and grab some hugs and pics with the characters. After you finish you may walk or ride the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom and find a spot to view the rope drop. Obviously double check the time the MK opens on the day you plan your Chef Mickey breakfast.

Please contact me if you have any additional questions. Planning a first trip to WDW can be overwhelming, though you seem to be doing a fabulous job. Enjoy your first experience at Walt Disney World!
