We're planning a family vacation to Disney World for the fall of 2013 and I was wondering if you can give me an unbiased opinion as to whether it's cheaper to book directly thru Disney or thru Triple A? Thanks for the help!

    Hi David!

Thanks for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

There's no easy answer for this.  If you do your homework and actively look for discounts, then you can get some amazing deals directly from Disney.  However, if you want to leave the planning to somebody else or just want to make a reservation and forget it (as opposed to continuing to look for new discounts) then you might want to go with AAA.  AAA does a great job helping to plan a Disney vacation, and they generally offer a discount all year round.  Disney discounts, on the other hand, come and go and Disney won't automatically apply a discount to your reservation.  You actually have to call Disney and ask for it.

That said, I think working with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner is the best way to go.  My vacation planner has saved me and my family a lot of money over the years.  He or she can also help with your planning, etc.  He or she is basically a travel agent that specializes in vacations to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, with Adventures by Disney, and on the Disney Cruise Line.  Most AAA locations have an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, but you might also want to seek out some agencies that basically only handle Disney.

I hope this helps!  Write back with more questions!
