We are planning a family trip to Disney World from 9/28 - 10/6 staying 9 days total. We are a family of 4 with kids ages 8 & 11 plus my mother in law. We are trying to figure out which resort to book 2 rooms. Any recommendations???

    Hi Shannon,

Oh, a nine-day stay during autumn at Walt Disney World sounds absolutely perfect! I'm so excited for your family.

I am going to give you an incredibly biased recommendation for where to stay during your upcoming trip. I have always loved Disney's Wilderness Lodge. It's quite simply my favorite resort in the entire world. I could spend hours soaking up the ambience of this breathtaking Northwest-inspired retreat nestled along Bay Lake. Wonderful new amenities have recently been added to this resort, including Geyser Point Bar & Grill and Salon by the Springs.

Beyond the aesthetics, there are some very practical reasons for your family to choose this resort. Disney's Wilderness Lodge is one of the most competitively priced deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World. Since you will be booking a second room for your mother-in-law, it makes sense to pay attention to pricing. Right? This resort offers a limited number of rooms with bunk beds. Given the ages of your children, I bet they would enjoy having their own beds, and bunk beds are always fun. Additionally, since Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be in full swing during your stay, it would be incredibly convenient to hop on a boat or four-minute bus ride to Magic Kingdom Park if you'd like to attend that popular seasonal event. Who doesn't like to trick-or-treat at Walt Disney World?

If you were looking for suggestions in the moderate or value categories of resort hotels at Walt Disney World, Shannon, just let us know. We'd be happy to make additional recommendations.

Wishing you many magical memories on your upcoming trip,
    Jill
