We are planning a family Disney trip in December 2019. How early can I purchase the Disney Park Tickets? Big group so I was planning on purchasing 6 day base tickets for each family member during the year instead of all at once before the trip.

    Hi Susan,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm super excited for your visit next December as that's one of my very favorite times of year to visit! The entire Walt Disney World Resort will be decked out in spectacular Christmas decor and there are SO many festive, holiday events going on! Two of my very favorites are Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Candlelight Processional. You'll not only make life-long memories on your trip, but your hearts will be filled with magic and holiday joy!

I'm happy to let you know that you may purchase your theme park tickets at any point! All tickets currently available on Disney's website need to be activated by December 31, 2019, so you'll be fine purchasing them now for your trip. If for some reason your plans change and the tickets expire, no worries - you won't lose the value in them. You may exchange any expired, unused tickets for new tickets and the value of the ones you have will be applied to the new ones. Once you purchase a ticket, you'll want to assign it to someone in your Family & Friends list and link it to the proper person within My Disney Experience. I'd just encourage you to make sure that you've purchased all of the tickets that you'll need at least 60 days ahead of time if you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel and 30 days beforehand if you're staying elsewhere as that's when your FastPass+ planning window will open. The earlier you make your FastPass+ selections, the more flexibility and availability you'll find!

Please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your trip, Susan, and have a truly magical vacation!
