All the planning is done for our June visit. I think it's time to start praying for patience for everyone while waiting in lines and dealing with crowds. Any tips on how to make the waiting easier on kids, 9 &5?

Hello, Angie!  Your vacation will be here before you know it, I bet your kids are getting so excited!

I absolutely know what it is like to visit during a busy time at Walt Disney World and while waiting in line isn't always fun, it doesn't have to be bad either.  Something my family and I love to do when we are in lines and even walking through the park is to look for Hidden Mickeys.  If you've never heard of them, Hidden Mickeys are a representation of Mickey Mouse that have been hidden and placed in rides, lines, streets, buildings - you name it, a Hidden Mickey could be there.  If you do a quick google search for them, you'll be able to see some examples of what a Hidden Mickey is.  Before one of our trips awhile ago, we bought the book, "Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World's Best Kept Secrets" and we haven't stopped looking ever since.  My 8 year old loves looking for Hidden Mickey's and it is something that keeps us occupied when we are waiting in lines.

The other thing I suggest doing to help is packing some snack type foods to munch on while you are waiting.  My daughter likes goldfish, dry cereal, snack mix, popcorn - anything little that she can pop in her mouth. If my daughter is snacking on something, she doesn't seem to notice how long she has been waiting in line for.  You can bring food and drinks in the park in a small soft sided cooler, just remember no glass is allowed in the parks.  Not only will the help occupy little ones but it also saves some money too!

I hope this helps!  If you have any other questions, please come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
