We are planning on doing one day at Disneyland. We plan on doing both parks and purchasing a one day park hopper. What is the best itinerary for doing this. We were thinking it might be best to start at California Adventure first. What are your thoughts?

    Hello Jeremy!
Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope you are having a magical week!

Both parks in one day is absolutely doable and, in fact, my boys and I have a set routine when we only have one day to visit.

We start out getting to the parks when they first open. Over at Disney California Adventure we race over to Radiator Springs Racers (or get a FASTPASS for the attraction). Then we zip over to the Paradise Pier area and hit up Toy Story Midway Mania and, for my brave ones, California Screamin. Cool off and slow down in The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure and possibly Soarin’ Over California if we have a FASTPASS or the queue isn’t too terribly long. and then head over to Disneyland Park.

Over at Disneyland Park it’s Pirates of the Caribbean first and foremost. We then try to go for the 3 mountains, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We end the day with classic rides like Peter Pan’s Flight, It’s a Small World and Mad Tea Party before watching the fireworks over Sleeping Beauty’s castle.

It’s so fun to create these special memories with my boys! I hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions as you are planning your visit.

    See you real soon!
