We are planning on a DL trip for Star Wars Half Wknd. There are 7 of us (5 kids ,14-3). What's the most economical place to stay on site at DLR. Is there any resort that has a kitchenette or full kitchen so we can feed the kiddos before we head to the park

    Hi, Margaret!

I’m so glad to hear you’re planning a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth to experience the inaugural Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend.

Paradise Pier Hotel is typically the least expensive of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels, and the rooms are decorated with bright and airy seaside-inspired furnishings. It is right across the street from the resort hotel that’s closest to the parks—Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa—but has about half the price tag. Plus, you’d still have access to the private entrance into Disney California Adventure Park through Disney’s Grand Californian. There are suites available, or you could reserve two adjoining rooms to accommodate your family.

Additionally, I’ve stayed at quite a few of the budget-friendly Good Neighbor Hotels (there are over 40!) near the Disneyland Resort and have had great experiences with many of them. One of my favorites is the Anabella Hotel because of its proximity to the parks (it’s directly behind Disney California Adventure Park and a short walk from both the parks and the Downtown Disney District). I enjoy staying in the suites and concierge-level rooms that are conveniently located toward the front of the property. My family has also stayed at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Anaheim Resort - Convention Center for a very reasonable price. It’s a bit too far to walk to the parks easily, but a shuttle is available. If you require a full kitchen, you may want to look into a vacation home rental instead, as not many hotels in the area offer this feature for an economical price.

I hope this information is helpful, Margaret. Please let me know if you have more questions about accommodations or any other aspect of planning your pixie-dusted vacation!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
