    Manuel from TX Asked

We are planning on going to Disneyworld next week and after viewing the weather it shows thunderstorms on several of the days we are there. Can you please let me know the policy on this situation?

Hi, Manuel! It's so exciting that your trip to Walt Disney World is coming up so soon!

It is a very common thing to experience thunderstorms in and around Walt Disney World this time of year. For the most part, these are quick hitting storms - they roll out as quickly as they roll in. In most cases, the storms are really just a quick afternoon nuisance, but because they are gone so quickly, they rarely impact a day at one of the theme parks.

Some attractions will close at the height of a storm where there is lightning. Outdoor attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain RailroadSplash Mountain, and Test Track will temporarily close during a lightning producing storm. If you have a FastPass+ for an attraction that closes due to weather, they will honor it later or you can select a new attraction.

There is still plenty to do during a storm, and none of the theme parks will close due to thunderstorms. Wearing a rain poncho and shoes like Crocs is a big help during a rain storm, but there are attractions like Carousel of Progress or the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival that are perfect places to stay dry.

Don't let the forecast dampen your spirits!
