Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

We are planning on a Disney World vacation May 16-22, 2020. I have one crowd calendar that has May 17, Sunday, as a good Magic Kingdom day, but others say weekends in May are very crowded. What are your thoughts?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Paula! I love to see that you’re busy planning your next magical adventure at the Walt Disney World Resort with so much anticipation! No matter what the crowd calendars say, you and your family can still have an incredible visit if you have a good plan in place!

I actually visited during that same weekend this year. The weather was mild and my family and I really enjoyed our visit. There are lots of things you can do to make sure those must-do activities are accomplished.

Did you know that guests who stay at Disney Resort hotels can start making their FastPass+ selections 60-days before their visit? I recommend that you link your theme park tickets to your My Disney Experience account at least 60-days before your vacation so that you can start making those selections.

The Interactive Parks Calendar is a great tool when it comes to finding out when Extra Magic Hours will be held during the dates of your stay. Those magical hours are another benefit of staying onsite!

You will be able to see the calendar exactly six-months before the dates of your stay, which I think is perfect timing, because that’s when your advance dining reservation window will open up too. I was able to make a dinner reservation at my family’s favorite table service restaurant at Epcot, Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria, before our vacation.

Paula, if you make a plan using these helpful tools, you can and will have a great time! I know my family did! If you have any questions as you start planning your visit, don’t hesitate to come back to see us.
