We are planning our Disney visit for 22 December 2012 to 4 January 2013 - will the water parks be open during this time? How do I find out if any of them will be closed as the calendars all stop at the end of November 2012.

Hi Barbara! Generally the winter season is when you will find the water parks closing for refurbishment after the long hot summer months of wear and tear. Disney will always try to keep one or the other park open for their guests but on occasion they both might be closed temporarily. Refurbishment plans are usually not released this far in advance.  Both parks offer something for all age groups and swimming abilities so families can find a fun day at either one in case of refurbishment closings.

Please remember that December and January can be some of the coldest days in Florida. If you are choosing a water park it might be a cold day as with most of the rides you are in and out of the water often. The benefit is that the crowds are much thinner so the lines are very short. IF you are planning a visit in the winter be sure and go during the middle of the day when the sun is at its warmest!
