Hi, we are planning a Disney vacation with a 2.5 year old and 5 year old. My younger child wakes up easily and will go to bed earliest. Do any of the resort hotel rooms have a separate area we could put her pack n play? Do the studio villas?

    Hi Staci!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I have four children, so I know quite well about the importance of everyone getting a good night’s sleep.  In a Deluxe Studio, you’ll find a spacious room, but there isn’t a totally separate area where you could put the baby and close the door.

If having a separate room for your little princess is important to you, I would consider a 1 Bedroom Villa. This would offer you a separate master bedroom, a living room, a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. These rooms also have a pack and play and a high chair in the room. When my children were babies, we would put the pack and play into the master bedroom. Then the rest the family could stay up and watch a movie and enjoy a snack in the living area.

Another option to consider would be the Family Suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. These suites offer a separate master bedroom, as well as a kitchenette and living area. With rooms that immerse you in some of kid’s favorite Disney movies, your little ones will love feeling like they are swimming with Nemo, racing through Radiator Springs with Cars friends, or dancing through the jungle with The Lion King.

If a Deluxe Studio is otherwise a good fit for you, maybe creative bedtime planning would be a solution. One adult could put the little one to bed, while the other adult takes the older child to an activity at the resort such as the evening campfire or poolside movie that most resorts offer. If the older child could be counted on to use their “quiet bedtime skills,” they could be ready to hop into bed as soon as they returned. Only you will know if this might work for your kids, but it’s an idea to consider.

I hope one of these suggestions will work, Staci, and I wish you happy planning!
