I am planning our Disney vacation for May 2018. It will be my 4 yr old baby girl's first time and I want it to be perfect. I want to go to MK on May 1st , are the crowds heavy or not due to the holiday? The crowd calendars have it as small crowds.

Hello, Claudia! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We’re so happy you stopped by to bring us your question. It’s our pleasure to assist you in planning the most magical vacation ever!

Claudia, I’m so excited to learn you will be experiencing Disney Firsts through your princess’ first visit. My favorite part of my Disney vacations is getting to experience the awe and wonder through my little ones. My daughter is finally at that age where she is tall enough to ride some of the bigger kid rides and enjoy and interact with characters more and it brings me such joy to see her face as she lives those magical moments. That’s the power of magic!

For the past several years, the first week of May has been my family’s go-to date to vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort. The crowds are usually moderate and the weather is not yet summer-hot. I also love getting to enjoy the always stunning Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival that is in full bloom during the spring months.

Claudia, be sure to mark your planning calendar with all your important Disney dates like your 60-day advanced FastPass+ reservation window (30-days if you’re staying offsite) and your 180-day Advanced Dining Reservation window. Have you booked some regal meals for your princess? I highly recommend a lovely dinner at 1900 Park Fare or the always magnificent meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table! Reservations book up fast so don’t miss that window!

Have a magical day and see ya real soon,
