We are planning a Disney vacation July 3-8. This our very first time to Disney world so I was wanting to go on July 4th. But wasn't for sure how hectic it is being its a holiday. Or should we choose another day? Would love to see a fireworks show.

    Hello, Krishla!

Congratulations on planning your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I am going to be honest. The July 4th holiday tends to be very crowded, but with some planning, you can have a magical time with your family.

My suggestion is plan to spend the actual holiday at your Disney resort hotel's pool or one of the water parks, Disney's Blizzard Beach or Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. You will find many water activities to keep your family entertained and cool during this typically hot time of year.

If you decide to go to a theme park, keep in mind, it will be crowded. Plan to arrive early, eat at off-peak times and have patience. With your theme park admission ticket, you can pre-schedule up to three FastPass+ experiences per day in one park via your My Disney Experience account.

Consider making an advanced dining reservation at one of the Monorail Resorts to see Disney's Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky special fireworks display. My family loves California Grill, Ohana or Narcoosee's. If you are unable to secure a dining reservation, you can also see this show from the Transportation & Ticket Center. In past years, this unique holiday display was presented on July 3rd and July 4th.

To stay up to date with events, subscribe to the Disney Parks Blog E-Newsletter to be one of the first to hear details about fireworks, park hours or dining opportunities that may be available during your July holiday vacation.

I hope this helps with your planning. Please visit us again with other questions you may have.
