We are planning our Disney vacation the end of October. And since we have made plans, we have heard of 3 of families going the same time as us - is this a bad sign? With the Free Dining Plan offer, do you see it being busier than normal October days?

Hi, Michelle!  I think the enticement of the free dining plan might make things a bit busier than a normal October, but October is still going to be less busy than a time of year where more people have free time.  I don't think you would ever see crowds in October like you do at Christmas time or during spring break, but for a typical October, this may seem busier.

You can definitely use the Fast Pass system to help you avoid some of the lines and decrease your wait times.  I also recommend dining at off peak hours, like an 11 o'clock lunch or a late evening dinner.  Riding the popular rides during the parades and fireworks can be a big help as well.

It might help as well to consult a site like www.touringplans.com where they give you suggestions as to which parks might be better on which days.  It's a useful guideline, and I have been there quite a few times to double check my own schedules!

I hope you truly enjoy your vacation!
