    Elizabeth from TX Asked

Hi! I am planning a Disney trip for myself, my uncle and his 3 kids. His middle son has down syndrome and I wanted to see what I can do to make sure he has a great experience. Can you help?

    Hello, Elizabeth!

How exciting to be vacationing with family at Walt Disney World Resort! I am happy to suggest a few ideas to help with your planning!

Utilize FastPass+. You can reserve up to three experiences per day in one theme park before your arrival. This is a great way to see a favorite character or secure a must do attraction.

Character dining experiences. Whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner there are opportunities where not only can you enjoy a delicious meal, but also get some time with characters right at your table.

Take breaks. Plan some down time so everyone can recharge. We usually spend two days at the parks before taking a day off to enjoy sleeping in and time at our Disney Resort hotel pool.

Fireworks. My little guy prefers to watch from outside the parks. The beach at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is right across from the Magic Kingdom and provides a great view.

Disability Access Service (DAS). If you find your nephew is unable to wait in a regular queue, then this might help maximize your park time. You can request DAS at any theme park Guest Relations Lobby and works in tandem with FastPass+.

My space is limited; however, if you let me know your nephew's interests or favorite characters I would love to offer more suggestions! I look forward to hearing from you soon!
