Hi. we were planning a Disney trip for June . My son has no desire to ride any rides if he sees long lines since he has ADHD he becomes frustrated and agitated and gives up . Do you have any recommendations ?

    Hi Deborah,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I completely understand your situation; my youngest daughter has Sensory Processing Disorder and also gets frustrated when waiting in long lines. Throughout our many visits, I have been able to find some things that work for us in those situations, and I'm happy to share them with you:

~  Stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and take advantage of Extra Magic Hours. The crowd level tends to be lower during Extra Magic Hours so there will be less of a wait in line for Attractions.

~  Reserve FastPass+ for your favorite Attractions and Entertainment. You can reserve up to 3 FastPass+ selections per day 60 days in advance of your arrival when staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. (30 days in advance if you are staying off property) You can either reserve online or by using the mobile app or you can reserve the same day at an in-park FastPass+ kiosk. Once you redeem your initial 3 picks, head to a kiosk where you’ll be able to make another selection.

~  Purchase a special game/app that your son can play only while waiting in line. Each time we visit we let our daughter choose an app to purchase that she can only play if we are waiting in a long Attraction queue. She enjoys choosing the app and sometimes even wishes the wait were longer so she can continue with her game play. Special snacks for wait times have worked for us too.

~  Have a plan. We always plan out each day of our visit and make sure that we share what our plan is with our daughter so that she knows what to expect. Purchase some Disney themed stickers, and have him place them in a special book after you complete each experience on your "Disney To-Do List".

    I hope these suggestions help!
