We're planning a 2011 Disney trip. I'm due to have a baby 12/10-01/11. I'm trying to decide how I can bring a 4 month old (Spring break for my 7 yr old) and what I need to do to plan a trip with such a small infant? Any suggestions??

Hi Katie! Traveling with an infant is not impossible to enjoy a great Disney vacation. It takes a bit more planning before your trip but there are so many great resources there to help you out and make the trip magical for your entire family!  My own 4 month granddaughter will be with us this fall and I am confident the vacation will be the best!

I suggest you choose a resort location that might include two separate rooms. This can be one of the many great villas or the Fort Wilderness cabins. Each location will have pack and play cribs available so you will not need to bring that with you. Locations that include a full kitchen are also nice so you can prepare snacks or meals and have the full size refrigerator at your disposal during your stay.  There are many grocery delivery services that are wonderful and we use gardengrocer.com.  You simply go their site, register, choose from their large list of food and baby items (includes formulas and diapers), pay via credit card, select a delivery date, time, and location, and then arrive to find everything waiting for you! It is truly magical!

There are also stroller rental companies if you choose not to bring your own. Many guests have used Orlandostrollerrental.com and have been pleases however, we have always brought ours with us. If you use Disney transportation you will not need a car seat and if you choose to need a taxi you can request one that is carrying a car seat with them.

Each park has a Baby Care Center where you can pick up supplies, have a quiet place to nurse, change diapers, or just rest.  Take advantage of using them as they are indeed a nice hiatus from the rush of the parks.

Don't rush around and keep everyone including the baby hydrated.  Enjoy what you can and let the magic happen!
