I am planning a disney trip in Aug. for 7 nights. I do not plan on going to only Disney parks. One day Universal and another to Sea World. My question is does the meal plan still save me money if I am not going to be in Disney parks everyday ?

    Kim,

When I have traveled to Walt Disney World on the dining plan I have always found that I use all my dining plan 'credits' and still have to pay for some meals out of pocket. That is, assuming you are not on the Deluxe plan that offers 3 table service meal credits per day. I have mostly used the standard plan, which offers one table service and one counter service per day.

What I would suggest you do is figure out how many Disney table service and counter service meals you plan on having, and then see if you think you are going to have unused credits at the end of the trip. If there is even a chance that you will have any extras left at trip's end, then avoid the plan. All it will take is one missed meal for most of the savings to go away, I have found.

But if you are like our family, with two counter service meals and one table service meal per day, including some signature dining (i.e. 2 table credits required), I think you will find you can still use them all up, and then some!

Send me another e-mail with info on what dining you plan on doing, and I can help further!

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
