Planning on going to Disney in June with family. 1st day in Epcot but magic kingdom has magic hours is it worth it to go to MK for about half hour then take monorail to Epcot to meet rest of group at opening of Epcot and can this be done

Hello Cheryl.  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel for help with planning your Walt Disney World vacation. The question of whether or not doing something is "worth it" is purely subjective, which makes it a little bit difficult to answer.  I'm guessing that in a best-case scenario you would have approximately 1/2 hour to experience the rides open during extra-magic hour at Magic Kingdom before needing to travel to Epcot to join the rest of your family members.  This would give you time to maybe do 2 rides providing you were able to walk on or have minimal waits.  I would factor in about 1/2 hour of travel time to leave the Magic Kingdom,  take the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center, and then transfer to the Epcot monorail.

You would need to have the Park Hopper option on your Base Ticket in order to visit these 2 parks in one day.  Provided you have that and are willing to do the travel time between the parks, it is definitely do-able, but whether or not it would be worth it would really be up to you to decide.

I would be happy to assist you with any other questions you have while planning your Walt Disney World vacation, so please don't hesitate to ask me!  Have a magical day!
