We are planning a disney cruise and park vacation.I want to arrive in Orlando 2 days before the cruise since I live in Upper Michigan and we get bad storms. What is the best way to do this and still use the Magical Express busses to get to the ship. Ideas?

Welcome aboard, Rebecca! You're planning my favorite type of Disney vacation - a land and sea trip! What fun!

If you're staying at one of the resorts at Walt Disney World, you can arrange for the Magical Express to take you from the airport to your resort when you arrive. After your two fun days at the parks, Disney Cruise Line offers ground transportation from the resort to the cruise terminal at Port Canaveral. While this transportation works almost exactly like the Magical Express, it is separate and includes a $35 per person each way cost. This ground transportation can then take your family from the ship upon disembarkation right back to the airport, again for the $35 per person cost, or back to the resorts if you have an additional stay there.

Though it might sound like a bigger expense, I promise that it is worth every single penny, as Disney takes care of all of the details, making your transition from land to sea and back again very seamless and stress-free. So, unless you're planning on staying at a Disney resort after the cruise, the only time you'll be able to utilize the official Magical Express complimentary service is when you arrive and are taken from the airport to your resort.

Disney Cruise Line's ground transportation can be added onto your existing cruise reservation, so just call Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent to add this service. You'll simply let them know which resort you'll be enjoying and they can arrange it all for you.

I hope that helps as you begin to plan this Surf and Turf vacation, Rebecca! I'm happy to help with any future questions about your cruise before you set sail!
