Planning for 2019 w/ DH, DS9 & DS18 (disabled). Thinking 8 park days w/ rest day every 2 days. Is this too much? Its everyone's first trip but mine & trying to avoid exhaustion. Should we do 6 days instead & utilize park hop?

    Hi Brianna,

Oh, I'm SO excited to hear that your loved ones will get to experience their very first Walt Disney World Resort vacation next fall! By beginning to plan your trip this far in advance, you'll have plenty of time to think through all of the details and put together the perfect itinerary for you and your family to enjoy together.

I like your plan of two theme park days followed by one Resort hotel day. If you do eight days of theme parks, you'll be able to slow down and really enjoy each park, although it would be nice to have the Park Hopper Option when you're staying that long. That way, if you decide you want to head back to one of the theme parks, but aren't sure you need another full day there, you'll have the flexibility to head somewhere else that day, too. Either way, a day to relax and enjoy your Disney Resort hotel after two full theme park days is a great plan. You'll be able to rest, recharge, and enjoy a different kind of Disney magic. A visit to Disney Springs or an evening at Disney's BoardWalk would also be fun!

Hearing that you have a Mouseketeer with some special needs, I wanted to make sure that you know that Disney offers many different services to help Guests with a variety of needs. As the mom of a child with special needs myself, I've found the Walt Disney World Resort to be a place of wonder and magic for everyone, and I'm so thankful for the all of the ways that Disney helps make our trips run smoothly.

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Brianna, and please come see us again with any other questions you have as you're planning next year's trip. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
