Child watching parade at Disney's Hollywood Studios

We are planning a day trip on the day after Christmas and I have a3 year old and my brother who is 17 and we were thinking of going to Hollywood studios and were wondering if there would be enough stuff for my 3 year old to do.

Happy Holidays, Emily!  This time of year at Walt Disney World Resort is brimming with festivity! My young kids loved it last year and I know yours will, too! I have a preschooler that went with us to Disney’s Hollywood Studios so I’ll share what she loved to do!

While it’s true there may be only two rides your preschooler can ride, there are also 5+ shows (Beauty & the Beast, Indiana Jones Action Adventure Stunt Show, Frozen Sing Along and my personal favorite: Voyage of the Little Mermaid) that your kiddo may love. I would highly recommend a family breakfast at Hollywood & Dine, where you can see all your favorite Disney Junior characters to start your day. Afterwards, sign your Youngling up for Jedi Training (an incredibly free popular activity) later that afternoon while you peruse the Star Wars Launch Bay, which is full of meet and greets, memorabilia and props from the movies. My tiny tot sat on the bench of the swirling Toy Story Midway Mania and shot (with terrible aim) her air popper at the screens, but the Toy Story characters kept her enthralled. She also highly enjoyed the meet and greet with Buzz and Woody, as well as the Interactive Baby Groot that responds to your personal comments inside One Man’s Dream.

Top off the afternoon with your child’s first Mickey Ice Cream Bar and a few PhotoPass Magic Shots and your family will be ready to hit the best spectacular of them all; Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! The holiday night show airs fairly early in middle December, around 6:15, which makes for a great “night cap” for preschoolers before bath and bedtime. If I can help recommend more activities for your family, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
