We are planning a "day off" from the parks and wanted to visit other Disney resorts. How would we get to do that ? Staying at AofA. Any other things we can do on an off day? Thanks so much!

Hello, Tracy! I love to schedule an off-day during my family's Walt Disney World vacations because there is so much to do outside of the theme parks -- and usually, with much smaller crowds. I recommend visiting the Disney Resort hotels along the monorail loop for the most convenient resort-to-resort transportation.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is a great place to start because you can get a delicious Tonga Toast breakfast at Kona Cafe before you set out to explore the property updates and the beach area. Make sure to grab a Dole Whip from Pineapple Lanai before you set off to the next Disney Resort hotel!

You can visit Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for a relaxing spa treatment of your choice, and then take a stroll by the water to watch the ferryboats float by. Sit down for afternoon tea at Garden View Tea Room before hopping on the monorail to your next destination.

Visit Disney's Contemporary Resort for dinner at Chef Mickey's. The little shops nearby have an excellent assortment of apparel and souvenirs, so if you haven't had the opportunity to shop on your vacation, this would be the place to start! At night, you may even sit out on the white-sand beach and watch the Electrical Water Pageant float slowly by.

If you're in the mood for a little more action and adventure, visit Sammy Duvall's Watersports Centre at the marina area of Disney's Contemporary Resort for parasailing, tubing, water skiing, and personal watercraft rentals.

You will be able to get to Downtown Disney from any of these Disney Resort hotels as well, so if you want to carve out some time during the day to pop over to this exciting shopping, dining, and entertainment district, I'd highly recommend doing just that.

I hope that you have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any additional questions before your upcoming vacation, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel, Tracy. Happy planning!
