We are planning a cruise this October. I have an extremely pick eater (4 year old) who will likely not each much provided on the ship. I know I can bring unopened snacks, but will I be allowed to bring a small cooler of items just for her?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Erin!

I am excited to hear you will be sailing with Captain Mickey this fall!  There is so much adventure to be had onboard a Disney Cruise.  One of the best adventures is experiencing all the food onboard!  I promise you, there is something for everyone - even the pickiest of eaters!

You are allowed to carry sealed, nonperishable food items onboard as long as they are in their original packaging.  Disney Cruise Line guidelines also allow for a cooler no larger than 12" x 12" x 12" carried on for baby food, medication or food specific to a guest's dietary restriction.  I would recommend if bringing food for your picky princess that you pack non-refrigerated options in your carry on bag and leave the cooler at home.

I had the same fear as you when our family embarked on our first Disney Cruise.  I have a picky pirate of my own and I was nervous he would go on a hunger strike during our sailing.  Thankfully, Disney Cruise Line has thought of everyone from the steady captain to the swash buckling adventurer.  There are kid-friendly menus that include staples like chicken nuggets, mac and cheese and even peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!  Your Rotational Dining team can even provide some options that are "off menu."  The menu also includes fun options for daring princesses like my daughter who love to be more adventurous with food!  Cabanas, the onboard buffet, and the counter service restaurants on the pool deck also provide options that everyone will enjoy including the basics.

Enjoy making magical memories!  Bon voyage!  Angie
