We are planning on going on a cruise for my father in laws birthday in 2019- I just found out I am pregnant with baby #4. How old do babies need to be to go on a cruise? Are there any rooms big enough for a family of 6? We would have a 6, 5, 2, and infant

    Ahoy, Katherine!

I can't think of a better way to celebrate a birthday than with a Disney Cruise Line vacation. It sounds like you'll have a little more to celebrate in the way of a tiny new prince or princess - congratulations! I'm happy to help answer your question about sailing with a party of six.

When choosing a sail date for your cruise, you'll need to keep in mind that the minimum age to sail aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship is six months old on the day of departure. Transatlantic and Panama Canal itineraries require that little cruisers be at least one year old on the day of sailing.

Once you've chosen your sail dates, then it's time to consider what stateroom bets suits your family of six. Guests traveling with parties of six or more often choose to book two connecting staterooms. Staterooms typically sleep three to five guests, so having two staterooms with a connecting door doubles your space, and best of all, gives you two bathrooms for your family! Disney Cruise Line staterooms were designed with families in mind, and their split bath design comes in handy when trying to get everyone ready for the day, or for the evening's entertainment. Each stateroom will have a split bathroom - one room has a sink and a toilet, and the other has a sink and a shower/tub combo. With six of you, those two bathrooms will come in handy!

If you book connecting staterooms with verandahs, you can also double the space on the outside of your room as well. Your Stateroom Host/Hostess can remove/fold the partition that separates the two spaces, creating a larger verandah for your family to enjoy. My husband loves to take advantage of Disney Cruise Line's 24-hour Room Service and have coffee delivered to the room each morning. He starts his morning drinking his coffee out on the verandah - what a peaceful, blissful start to any day, especially when the ship is at sea!

I hope this helps with your planning - have a magical day! - Diane W.
