Hi! Planning a Cruise end Feb/ early Mar 2011 on the Magic. Do you recommend Eastern or Western at that time of year? We are hoping to visit beaches mainly at the ports (our girls will be 7 and 10). Also any advantages of port side vs Starboard rooms?

    Hi Christine,

Welcome to the Moms Panel, and thanks for your question!  I actually had this exact same dilemma for our upcoming 2011 voyage - but the dates my kids' school vacation week made the decision for me.  The voyages alternate each week between Eastern and Western itineraries.

Now I will be completely honest, I had already sold myself on the Western, because I wanted to have the additional port stop (the eastern itineraries have three stops, western have four).  However after a lot of research on our Eastern voyage, I am thrilled by the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean while visiting St. Maarten and St. Thomas/St. John.

As for Port vs Starboard - I am a creature of habit, and typically opt to stay on the starboard side.  I like this simply because this is the side that typically faces Castaway Cay while we are docked there.

I hope this helps - happy planning!
