We're planning on celebrating my daughter's 3rd birthday at WDW. Any hotel recommendation for a family with a toddler?

  • Hi Liza!

Any age is the perfect age to visit Walt Disney World, and celebrating a birthday there is even more magical. I love that there are so many different resorts at Walt Disney World, each with their own unique flavor. Since every family is different, you’ll find each will have their own favorite. I have a few suggestions, and I’m sure my fellow panelists will also have some fantastic ideas.

My daughter just turned three, and she is a big Disney Princess fan. If your daughter is also a fan, you might like Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. This resort showcases four of Disney’s beloved movies, including The Little Mermaid. The standard rooms in The Little Mermaid section are elaborately themed and feature Ariel and friends. Outside, the decor is larger than life, with Ariel and her father Triton standing stories tall! Since Disney's Art of Animation Resort is a Value Resort, this choice is also budget friendly.

Another great option with a toddler is Disney’s Bay Lake Tower. Located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you’ll be just a short walk from Magic Kingdom, and a quick Monorail ride to Epcot. With a toddler in tow, being able to walk home at night is super convenient. Rooms at Bay Lake Tower are available as Deluxe Studios, 1, 2 or 3 Bedroom Villas. In a Deluxe Studio, you’ll find a handy kitchenette, and in the Villas you’ll find separate living and sleeping areas, a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. Rooms also come with a high chair and a pack-n-play already in the room. When traveling with a little one, having a separate area to put them down for naps or at night can be a sanity saver. While, having a kitchen in your room allows you to prepare meals and snacks to keep picky eaters happy.

These are just two of many wonderful choices, Liza. I can’t wait to see what other recommendations you get. Have a magical trip, and I wish your daughter a very Happy Birthday!
