I am planning on bringing my son the last weekend in MArch - his Spring Break AND 7th birthday. We are looking at staying at the Poly, but it is MUCH more expensive. Is it really worth it???? How is their pool? The Beach Club looks to have a great one.

    Hi Krista,

The deluxe resorts are much more expensive than the value resorts.  Whether or not the price tag is worth it depends on your individual needs.  Location is a huge reason that our family likes to stay in deluxe properties when we can.  The Polynesian offers monorail service to the Magic Kingdom, and it's just steps away from the Transportation and Ticket Center, making travel to any park very convenient.

The Polynesian also has a two table service restaurants, access to water sports, a sandy beach with daily activities and a fun pool with a water slide.  Although if you're looking for the best pool area, Beach Club is definitely the deluxe property for you.

Having said all of that.  If you are a family of 2 or 3, you may be just as happy at a value resort.  They're clean, well themed, and kids love them.  The food courts at the value resorts are great and filled with tons of dining options.  The two drawbacks, in my mind, are that the pools don't have water slides and travel time to the various parks takes much longer.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
