We are planning to bring my son who has ASD to Disneyland before his third birthday. How do we get a DAS pass if he doesn't have a valid park ticket?

    Hello Mary,

Thank you for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I am a mama of a boy on the Autism Spectrum too.

Hakuna Matata. Whether you’re bringing your son to the Disneyland Resort before he turns three (and he will not require a theme park admission ticket) or after, the process for requesting a Disability Access Service (DAS) Card is the same. The Disability Access Service Card is designed to accommodate Guests who aren't able to wait in a conventional queue environment due to disability (including non-apparent disabilities). You visit the main entrance Guest Relations to discuss your children's special needs and concerns with the Cast Member to see if the DAS Card would benefit your children's needs. Their photo will be taken for the issued card. You will not need to provide any paperwork to the Cast Member in order to receive a DAS Card. The Cast Member will go over the terms and conditions with you and have you sign the DAS Card.

With the Disability Access Service Card, you will go to an attraction you wish to ride, see a Cast Member at the entrance to get a return time to enter the FASTPASS or alternate entrance if directed. The Cast Member will fill the information in on your DAS Card with your return time. The DAS Card is not the same as a FASTPASS in that there is not a window return time so there isn't pressure to make it back in a certain period. You can only access one DAS Card return time for one attraction at a time. While waiting for your DAS return time, you are welcome to grab a magical snack, enjoy a show, or watch a parade.

I recommend a link on the Disney Parks website called Cognitive Disabilities that I find helpful as well.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any more questions, please write me back on how I can help you plan your pixie-dusted vacation.

    Wishing you magic!
