Hi, I am planning a break for Oct 2012 for me and my boyfriend. We are staying in the AKL and get the dining plan etc-great money saver! I have heard that because of the time of year we will be coming, we might miss out on some of the shows, is this true??

    Hi Lucy!

That's kind of true, but not exactly.  For example, during the busier times of the year, there might be two showings of the nighttime parade in the Magic Kingdom or Fantasmic! might be shown in Disney's Hollywood Studios every night (and maybe even multiple shows each night) than just select nights of the week.  The bottom line is during the busier times of the year, there are more opportunities to experience something!

However, all of that said, I would much rather go with the parks are not crowded.  Because I think you can actually experience a lot more things overall when the parks are not crazy.  Thus I think October is a great time of year to go. In fact, October is my second favorite time of year, after early December.  A big attraction in October is the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.  It's definitely a great experience for adults who like to try new foods!  I also really enjoy going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  I've never met anybody who didn't like trick or treating in the Magic Kingdom.

So my recommendation is to stick with your plans.  October is a great time to visit and the Animal Kingdom Lodge is fabulous!  Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
