Planning on arriving by Amtrak in late November. Could you please suggest a way to get from either Amtrak station to our Disney resort other than a rental car?

    Hi Karen,

Your question brings back such wonderful childhood memories for me. When I was in elementary school my family traveled to Walt Disney World Resort several times by train. It's a nice leisurely way to start off your vacation.

Since Disney's Magical Express does not pick up guests at the Amtrak station, I highly recommend that you arrange in advance for a private car service to pick you up. Let them know what time your train is scheduled to arrive and the driver will be waiting for you and your luggage in whatever size vehicle you need. You can even prepay the fare (and the gratuity, if you like) so that you don't need to be fumbling for cash or a credit card as you are arriving at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel. In a taxi you never know for sure how much a fare will cost, but a private car service will tell you in advance how much it will cost to transport your family to your destination.

There are many private car services in Orlando. If you search "private car service Orlando" online, you'll see that you have many options. I have used Mears Transportation frequently with good results. Their fares are reasonable and the drivers are always courteous.

Let us know if you need any additional advice as you plan your upcoming trip. We'd be delighted to help in any way.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Jill
