Planning an April trip to WDW and are also looking at getting Annual Passes. If we use the AP for a hotel is that when the passes will be activated or will they be activated when we get to the park? Ideally, we’d like them activated on our 1st park day.

Hello there, Caitlin! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and ask your wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

Congratulations on your decision to become a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder! In addition to gaining admission to four amazing theme parks, you will also gain many complimentary benefits available to Walt Disney World Annual Passholders. Some of these include complimentary standard parking at all theme parks, special discounts on merchandise, food, and beverages, early FastPass+ reservation times, and more! I would also recommend keeping an eye on the Passholder Extras page for additional offerings that change based on the season!

Your Walt Disney World Annual Pass must be activated at any Guest Relations location or theme park ticket window prior to its first use. This means that your year of magic begins only once you've officially activated your Walt Disney World Annual Pass. For example, if you activate your Walt Disney World Annual Pass on October 1st, 2019, it would be valid from that day until October 1st, 2020.

I hope this information assists you in planning for your upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you!
