    Amy Asked

I just planned our 5th trip in Sept. This will be our 1st time staying on property! I have always avoided the Extra Magic Hour Parks before and wonder if I should again since even though you get more time, those parks are busier on those days. Thoughts?

    Hi Amy,

You are a smart planner, Amy. Typically, if you are not anticipating arriving early enough to take advantage of that full hour, it's not always the wisest decision to tour the Park with EMH. In the past, I have also avoided the EMH days during peak crowd levels, for instance, during the holidays.

With the exception of Labor Day weekend, September will typically offer lower crowds and earlier Park closings, so in this case I think it would be to your advantage to utilize the Extra Magic Hours amenity. Try to arrive early enough for that full hour ... it will make all the difference. "Walking on" to attractions that will likely become a 45 minute wait by the afternoon will allow you to maximize your time and vacation dollars.

You will notice a significant difference in September crowd levels compared to many other months of the year, and the weather should be beautiful. I say take advantage of EMH, but have a plan to make the most of that time. Be prepared to tackle Test Track, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Under The Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid, Space Mountain, Toy Story Mania!, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Kilimanjaro Safari, etc. But as it's your 5th trip (you're hooked!) I know you're familiar with the favorites! Experiencing the most popular attractions during Extra Magic Hours will allow you to relax and enjoy every nook and cranny of the Disney Parks throughout the rest of your vacation.

I wish you a magical time, Amy, and I hope you visit us again with any other planning questions coming to mind.

    Best wishes!
