We planned to do the dining plan but the more I think about it, am I wasting more money than saving with 1child that hardly eats. We have to purchase for the entire family--it's all or none so I just wanted to make sure we re going our money's worth.

Greetings Phuong! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! My family of six has purchased the DIsney Dining Plan on numerous trips and we have found the DIsney DIning Plan to be a great value while also affording us the opportunity to experience many dining locations we may not have tried otherwise. With that being said, we have also traveled without the DIsney DIning Plan depending on our dining plans for that particular trip. I have personally found the Disney DIning Plan to be a great value especially for the children. One of my seven-year-olds is a very picky eater and does not eat a lot, but I know that I am going to purchase him a meal at breakfast, lunch and dinner so I find the value of the Disney DIning Plan to be worth what I would normally pay for each of his meals out of pocket. I would recommend that you decide which restaurants you will be dining at and then take a look at the menus for those dining locations. I would then add up what you would be spending if you paid out of pocket as opposed to what the DIsney DIning Plan would cost you each day. You can then decide if the DIsney DIning Plan is a good value for your family. I would suggest visiting the independent website allears.net to view the menus for all of the Walt Disney World restaurants. Follow this link to view the 2013 Disney Dining Plans that are available to guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort. I hope this information helps in making your decision. Please don't hesitate to write me back with any additional questions. Best wishes for a magical trip, Phuong!
