Planned for cool weather but had surgery for kidney removal and had to change trip to July. IAm 60 and afraid of dehydration and on a strict, tight budget. I will carry a water bottle in the park. What is the availabilty of drinking foutains/water

    Hello, Dorita!

Not to worry! We always travel to Walt Disney World in the heat of the summer (and will this July!) and each one of us carries our own refillable water bottle each day. There are water fountains in multiple locations throughout each park, so you'll have no problem filling up all day long.

Try to bring a wide-mouthed bottle, too, so that you can fill it up with ice at your resort, topping it off with water. We always ask for an extra cup of ice, too, when we order counter service meals, then refill our bottles with the ice and water from the fountains, which are usually located by the bathrooms.

There are additional water fountains, however, scattered throughout each park. For example, right behind Cinderella Castle, there is a lovely little fountain of Cinderella which has several drinking fountains around it. This is just one of many drinking fountain locations throughout this park alone.

I suggest that you stop at the First Aid Centers in each park, with a park map in hand, and ask a Cast Member there to mark drinking fountain locations for you right on your map. This will be especially helpful in locating those fountains which are not near the entrance to a bathroom, since you could easily walk right by simply because you didn't realize that they were there. Remember, too, to head indoors frequently, if only to get off your feet and into the air conditioning several times a day, especially at peak hours for the sun. We always spread out our attraction schedule with the mindset of going no more than an hour between air-conditioned rides, shows or meals. Even a leisurely stroll through the beautifully air-conditioned shops on Main Street U.S.A. will keep you cooler, too.

Have a wonderful trip! Please send more questions as you think of them! I'd love to help!
