We are planing a trip to Disney world in March 2019. I have a 9 year old who cant keep up with us when walking but we have a special wheelchair/stroller. I am not sure if it fits the rules. Am I going to be able to use it?

    Hi Santania,

I'm really excited to hear that you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in March! That's one of my favorite times of the year to visit! Not only is it great to enjoy some Florida sunshine after several months of wintertime up north, but with the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival in full bloom, it's SO gorgeous!

I'm happy to let you know that Disney is very accommodating to Guests with a variety of special needs, and yes, you will be able to bring the wheelchair/stroller that your Mouseketeer is already comfortable with along with you! If it looks more like a stroller, I'd encourage you to stop in at Guest Relations when you first arrive at a theme park to ask for a tag you may place on your stroller that will allow it the same access that wheelchairs have. Beyond that, I'd encourage you to read through all of the services that are available for Guests traveling with disabilities. As the mama of a child with special needs myself, I can tell you that the Cast Members at Disability Services are very helpful. I've called them at (407) 560-2547 multiple times before to check on different things for my own family, so know that you have that resource available, too! We all want you and your Mouseketeer to have the most AMAZING vacation possible!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your super important question, Santania! Please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're planning your trip. Your FastPass+ window will open soon and then you'll really start to see your itinerary come together...SO exciting! I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
