I plan to visit WDW with my son for the first time in July for his 8th birthday; what should we do? Many things have changed since I was a kid. Food suggestion/accomodations due to his nut & egg allergy.

Welcome Lemeicia! Thanks for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Birthdays are always magical at WDW and if you can arrange details in advance, it's going to be the greatest day ever!
For celebrating your son’s birthday, I recommend Chef Mickey’s to start off his special day with a breakfast celebration. This is my favorite Character Dining Experience, at a very special place, located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. While you dine, you will meet Disney Characters for photos and autographs.
Dining reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. You can order a birthday cake to be delivered to the restaurant of your preference. You can choose from different sizes and shapes, or get one personalized for him. It's always a great surprise!
If he likes pirates, I recommend you make a reservation at The Pirates League, at Magic Kingdom Park. It’s an amazing experience, where he will be transformed into a real pirate. Very exciting! Reservations are recommended and can be made by phone up to 180 days prior to your visit.
Regarding your son’s food allergies, WDW is ready for welcoming guests with food allergies and special diet needs. Cast Members at restaurants are prepared to help your family. When you make reservations in advance, let them know about your son’s allergies. If you arrive at any quick-service or table service restaurant without reservation, just tell a cast member about the food allergy; and they will be glad to help you find a safe option for him. Sometimes even the Chef will come to your table to assist you.
There is also a nice website, glutenanddairyfree.com, where you can find helpful information about the best places to eat for people with specific food allergies at WDW.
Finally, don’t forget to request a complimentary Happy Birthday button for him!
Let us know if you have further questions.
    Have a magical day!
