how do I plan for dining? Not knowing what park we will be doing on any given day (have 4 day pass) should I book dining and then work parks around that or just see if we can get in? Do you need a reservation for counter service or just table?

Hi, Alicia! First, I would plan which parks you are doing which days.  You can use the Walt Disney World website to decide. For all of your planning needs, information is available to you on Walt Disney World's website. Simply go to www.WaltDisneyWorld.com and select the theme park you want to check from the menu at the top of the page. On the new page, select Calendar from the menu on the left. From the drop-down menu, choose the month you need to view.  When the calendar appears, the daily park hours and any Extra Magic hours will be listed. To view the parade and nighttime event schedule, simply click on the numeral of the date you are interested in attending. Repeat for each of the parks. All of the magic is at your fingertips.

After that, I would make my Advance Dining Reservation for the Table Service restaurants.  You do not need, nor can you make, reservations for the Quick service restaurants.  Walk-up reservations are sometimes possible, but I'm not sure when you are arriving or how many are in your traveling party, so I am hesitant to tell you that that will work out for you.
Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
