We plan on coming to Disney in December 2010 we have been there for other holidays and this will be our first time in Disney for Christmas, we are torn where to stay. We have stayed at alot of the reosrts but for christmas which is the best? Thinking GF?

    Hi Eileen,

Each Walt Disney World resort hotel is elaborately decorated for the holidays, but some are definitely more decorated than others. Without a doubt, any of the Disney Deluxe Resorts would be an awesome place to stay for Christmas, but if I had to pick just one I would pick either the Grand Floridian or the Wilderness Lodge. As you know, the Grand Floridian is a great place to stay any time of the year, but it is especially nice at Christmas with all of the Christmas decorations. The life-sized Gingerbread House is of course absolutely amazing.

The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite resort and it is especially nice at Christmas. Their giant lobby is filled with a towering Christmas Tree and there are Christmas decorations all over the resort. The "sleigh ride" that is typically available in the winter is a nice romantic activity; you board outside the main lobby at the lodge.

After the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge, I would recommend the Yacht and Beach Club on the basis of their Christmas decorations. The edible Gingerbread Carousel in the Beach Club lobby is worth a visit to see.

Regardless of where you stay, take time out during your trip to tour the resorts and see the decorations first hand.  I believe it is definitely worth the time and effort to visit the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge if you are not staying there. It's very easy to get to either of them for a short break when you're visiting the Magic Kingdom. There's also a horse-drawn carriage ride at Fort Wilderness and I highly recommend it. In my opinion, it's much better than the sleigh ride you can take from the Wilderness Lodge and that's simply because at Fort Wilderness you get to see all of the decorations displayed by the guests staying there. Some of the guests have the most amazing displays!

Christmas is a magical time to visit! Enjoy planning your trip and write back if you have any more questions!
