Hi Moms/Dads! Trying to plan a Christmastime visit and need advice. Military discounts on resort room or park tickets, which one do you think offers more bang for your buck? Planning for a family of 5 and could really use some help with how to get started

    Hi Crystal,

Thanks so much for asking your awesome question here on the Moms Panel. As a fellow military family, I jumped at the chance to help you with your planning. The special offer for military members visiting Walt Disney World really does help with the budget. Instead of picking either the Armed Forces Salute military discounted tickets or the accommodations under the special offer, why not pick both?

I suggest purchasing Disney's Armed Forces Salute tickets for your family, and using the accommodations at Shades of Green Resort. You'll be able to utilize the discounts at Shades of Green, while still receiving a discount on your theme park tickets. The Armed Forces Salute tickets are also sold at Shades of Green Resort, so that would be one-stop shopping for you and your party.  If Shades of Green isn't an option for you, I also suggest looking into the family suites at the Walt Disney World Value Resort Hotels. There are some great affordable accommodations for families of 5 or more. You can check them out here: Rooms for 5 Guests Or More.

I hope this answer helps you, Crystal. If you have any other questions about your upcoming holiday vacation, please feel free to ask me at any time. I'm always here to help.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
